Hello. It seems that it might be at least three weeks since I mentioned any wittering about the latest lightbulb fixation. Time to fix that.

These gorgeous vintage replicas are amazing. They’ve got sexy looped filaments, 1900s moulds, and are pretty much, from what I can tell, hand-made by Thomas Edison. And they have little nipples and everything. What else do you want in a lightbulb?

John Lewis, in a less obscure part of the land, are also selling some pretty sweet bendy filament bulbs. They’re a little orangey which makes me want to buy them all as Christmas decorations.

I’m pretty much a coinisseur of brown things. It’s a difficult title to hold, but it’s reached the point of ridicule so I think I can carry it. Over the last year I’ve been faithfully carrying around a brown See by Chloe bag – it’s a perfectly slouchy but very sweetly detailed shoulder bag. On the other hand, it’s awful at carrying 15″ Mac Book Pros when freelancing. It’s now got a giant hole that even my slightly dodgy sewing with leather thread can’t fix.

So in true avoiding-any-change I’ve asked for a replica for Christmas. But having seen the rest of their range, I think I’ll just have that. All of it. Not to wear all at once mind.

I adore this one on Mademoiselle Robot. Typically terrified of Houndstooth patterns, I think I could wear this without feeling like Cruella De Ville.

This one may be a suspiciously similar version of the one above, but you’ll note it’s not brown. This pretty much fits my criteria of ‘new things I am allowed to buy without being repetitively mocked.’ I may like it even more than the other one.

Also, despite the numerous tech blogs’ guides to ‘cute bags for your camera and tech pieces’ which very occassionally throw up good pieces, this is gorgeous. I don’t think there’s even a regulation that you put a camera in it. It could be used for ANYTHING. It could be a bag for bottle of gin or a gun. The options are endless. Another reason this bag is amazing.

They also make one that looks like a Toblerone. See, something for everyone.

Answer: Only if it lets me buy sexy lightbulbs.

Like Pinterest and 80% of Tumblr, there’s no real lack of ‘I like this’ sites around the internet, each letting you click items, photos and pictures that you like and add them to a list. Ah, uniqueness. There’s a new site called Fancy I had a play on this week. At first glance it’s a list of said items, photos and pictures, which you have the option to click ‘Fancy’ on, to add to your own list. The unique thing this site offers is the option to go to buy whatever’s in the picture. Which is interesting when you discover it because it doesn’t look anything like a shop’s catalogue – it’s all very ‘mood boardy’ with the option to buy. So next time I find a retro style mug (as I inevitably will), it won’t go onto my list of gorgeous but unattainable goods, I can click through to the site itself.

I’m cooing at these lightbulbs at the moment.

And it gives you 10% off certain stores (including Bouf) when you’ve unwittingly ‘Fancied’ enough of their goods.

Found through Matt O’shea.

I realised something this week. I haven’t written about my new job yet. It’s now the end of week 5 and today had an amazing revelation.

I’ve worked in Digital PR teams and in a media agency, and now I’m in a creative agency. One thing I love is the people and how human they are. And also that they wear brogues. I work with Jed Hallam, who has a great capacity for wearing stripey shirts, and Graham Drew who has a similar capacity for wearing scarves. As an Art Director I think this is pretty obligatory. Our MD just won the company award for bad fashion. Combined my habit of living in one pair of jeans, I think we make a great team.

Today I got to the end of my notepad. At the back, in week 1, I started a buzzword bingo. And today I realised that I’ve only got one box filled out. And that comes from Tom Park who said described his time as “spare capacity”. And if that’s it for five weeks, I think I’ve landed on my feet.
